Corporate Executive Leader for LTP Sales
Jim Obendorf is a founder and partner of Hathor Investment Holdings, Ltd, a holding company located in Singapore with operating interests that range from retail loyalty solutions / services, interactive web marketing and business consulting to premium cigar distribution. Jim is primarily responsible for financial, operating and corporate development matters, the latter including strategic partnerships, expansion strategies, fundraising, liquidity strategies and investments.
Having held senior finance and operational roles in both large and small companies (including three start-ups), Jim possesses a strong and diverse background in business operations and financial matters. Financial specialties include operation / capital analysis, equity / debt financing, acquisitions, corporate development, implementation of planning and internal financial controls.
In addition to key management roles in the transportation & logistics industry with Southern Pacific and American President Lines, Jim’s experience includes executive level positions in the technology business with SaRonix and Communications Broadband Multimedia (CBM). As Vice President, Finance & Corporate Development -- Saronix: Recapitaliztion and execution of a cross border acquisition effort to expand an electronics manufacturing business worldwide. He was instrumental in the introduction of ERP and CRM technologies across the company.
As Managing Director -- Southern Pacific: Reduced rail / locomotive expenses by $150 million annually with improved service performance through financial restructuring and operating improvements. As assistant to the President, he initiated a number of efforts to drastically improve service reliability, management accountability and in a special effort, assisting with the decision to outsource the IT function to IBM.
As Director of Logistics – American President Lines (APL): Led $700 million, multi year effort to acquire vessels / support equipment including a substantial redeployment of the entire logistics network, which doubled the size of the company in three years. Prior management roles in Finance saw the implementation of planning, control, costing, and capital expenditure disciplines throughout the company. Jim graduated with honors with an MBA in Finance from San Jose State University and a BA in Economics from San Jose State University. In addition, Jim is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Upon graduation and while holding his first full time corporate position, Jim lectured on Corporate Finance to graduates and undergraduates at San Jose State University. |
