George Molaski
Corporate Executive Leader for LTP Sales
Mr. Molaski provides advisory services to technology companies on providing products and services to the public sector. He was the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the US Department of Transportation serving from June 1999 to February 2001. During his tenure he led the transformation of the Department to one that uses technology extensively to provide its services and information.
Through his work and service on various committees, speeches and published articles Mr. Molaski is a thought leader on using technology to make governments work better and be more efficient. He served on the Executive Committee of the Federal CIO Council and co-chaired the E-gov Committee, the government wide E-gov Steering Committee and was a FirstGov.gov Board member, which led the development of the Federal Government’s first government wide web portal. He received the prestigious Fed 100 Award in his first year of government service for his contributions on the use of information technology in the government.
As a Principal with the Council for Excellence in Government (CEG) he presented a course on E-gov given at the Govtech Conference. Represented CEG at the 3rd E-Gov Global forum and spoke on the use of E-gov to improve business climates and at the 10th International Anticorruption Conference spoke on the use of technology to fight corruption in government.
Mr. Molaski brings over twenty-five years of executive management experience in using technology to manage and transform organizations. Prior to being appointed US DOT CIO, Mr. Molaski held leadership positions in information technology-based businesses including President and part owner of WritersClub.com, an Internet e-commerce site for distance education and on-demand publishing; Executive Vice President & COO of Advanced Paradigms Inc, a Wang subsidiary specializing in the implementation of Microsoft and Cisco networking products; President of IDC Government, an International Data Group Company, which provided technical advisory services to Government CIO’s; Vice President of DataFocus which developed part of Windows NT; Regional Consulting Director with Oracle Corp.; and Consulting Partner with Grant Thornton, Accountants and Management Consultants. Mr. Molaski served the following civic and professional organizations to include Chairman, City of Falls Church e-Communities Task Force; City of Falls Church Economic Development Authority, Chairman from 1997-1999; Northern Virginia Technology Council, Founding Board of Directors (92-94); Northern Virginia Minority Business and Professional Association Board of Directors (87- 98); Industry Advisory Council of the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils, Electronic Commerce Task Force, CIO Task Force. Mr. Molaski received a BS in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration in from the University of Dayton. |
